Puppy, Novice and Open Working Test - Sunday, 13 September 2026

IWGDC Puppy, Novice and Open tests, 13th September, Coppidhall Farm, Havenstreet.

The last working test of the season and the weather held for us.  Grateful thanks to the landowner Alan George, the judges, Roger Wade, Chris Marshall, Mike Crutchley, Andrew Steggles and Jennie Knight and the wonderful local group of stewards, dummy throwers and helpers who made the day a success.

There were five tests that provided a good challenge for the dogs, with handlers really needing to think how to use the wind for success.  Test 1 was a walk up, 2 dogs for the puppies and 4 dogs for novice and open, with two retrieves per dog.  Test was a double mark, one short, one long, wight different distances for the puppies.  Test three was a blind without shot in the woods.  Test 4 was a mark and blind with shot and at test five the puppies had a blind with shot and novice and open was a two dog test with a blind and mark, both with shot.
